Non-Geographic Numbers

Many companies have realised the benefits of using 0800, 0845 and 0870 marketing and non-geographic numbers (NGNs) on their advertising and promotional materials.

Freephone and marketing numbers are a proven method of generating new and repeat business by encouraging both new and existing customers to call you at a predetermined cost.

Call charges are not related to the caller's geographical location, so the cost to the caller is the same regardless of where they are calling from or to. Quite simply, your chosen NGN number sits in front of our existing telephone number, so there is no need to change any existing telephone numbers or services. We can advise on the best option to suit your needs, and can offer heavily discounted pricing and rebates in some instances.

0800 Freephone Numbers allow your customers to call you free, thus stimulating both sales and customer enquiries. Allocation is free of charge - the only costs incurred by you are the cost of the calls made to the Freephone number.

A recent survey has shown that customers are 72% more likely to call a company with an 0800 Freephone number than one without. In the USA, 95% of businesses have a Freephone (or toll-free) facility. These numbers are recognised as an essential tool particularly for sales-orientated companies and it is a proven fact that callers will use them in preference to normal rate numbers. Existing Freephone numbers can be retained without charge.

0845 Local Rate Numbers allow your customers to call you from anywhere in the UK for the cost of a local call. If Freephone doesn't meet your business needs, an 0845 number may offer a viable alternative - while you do not pay for your customers to call you, you do subsidise the call.

0870 National Rate Numbers are non-geographical, and give your company a national identity. Customers pay National Rate for their call and are not subsidised.

Premium Rate Numbers enable your company to generate income from telephone-based services such as information or support lines. The provision of these services means a cost to your business, so it makes sense to pass on a proportion of this cost to your customers. Premium rate numbers allow this to be done easily and efficiently, and your customers are aware that they are paying for the service they are accessing.
